A NOTE FROM JJ

It started with
being looked after.

While I was on Oʻahu, people showed up for me. They helped keep a roof over my head, helped me get there, and made me feel welcome.

I remember my first time snorkeling at Sharks Cove. Waking up to three birds singing outside my window. And how deeply the community’s response to the Maui fires moved me.

Those are the things I want these pieces to carry. Faith, gratitude, and the people behind the memories.
